Peaceful at Stanford

An afternoon at Stanford University, a famous college and a home of the world's prestigious research institute, seemed unlikely, especially obscure. With more than 8000 acres and nearly 700 buildings it is the largest high education facility in the United States. Considering the fact that 97% of students live on the campus, one can easily imagine how loud life can get here. This time it was very peculiar. Silence was prevailing among buildings designed in mission revival architecture style.
Strolling through its historic Main Quad or iconic non-denominational Memorial Church and Hoover Tower, I couldn't help but notice an uneasy feeling I got from quiet passages, and empty buildings splashed gently by the sound of the early summer wind.
Style: shoes Zadig&Voltaire, purse Alexander McQueen, sunglasses Tom Ford, sweater and shirt H&M
Cantor Center for Visual Arts, a perfect escape into the world of art, was silent too. Luckily there’s a large number of outdoor installations. Bronze statues by Auguste Rodin are scattered around the campus, like Burghers of Calais, leaving the impression that they are enjoying these peaceful moments. Even Andy Goldsworthy’s Stone River unites more freely with nature, just like the artist’s original intent was.
Lastly, maybe all of this quiet time is much needed for such a busy campus until it goes back to its crowded, regular routine.
